Seriously, I am wondering how I could still love through all of these torments. I don't get enough sleep for doing assessments that are unbelievably a lot and hard! Sometimes I just want to sleep and never wake up again. Aiih, today is the due date of the individual report about the world styles of music thingy. Yes, mine is about jazz music. What else do you think it might be? Tired, I am very tired. I am too tired to even write this reflection. What I want to do right now is just to sleep! I think I did fairly well in doing my booklet. I am feeling sad that the cover which should be awesome wasn't that awesome at all.
Today we practice about major and minor scales. Again, it was so easy! I helped my friends... I hope they understand. I love sharing my knowledge... I love helping people. Oh, have I told you that today Steven Jaya performed? He made a few obvious mistakes and I do think that he still could improve if he practices more. However, who am I to comment him? I am not an expert either. After his performance, Mr. Herry plays the video of our performances. SERIOUSLY. It is so embarassing. I just want to die. I play really awful. Just kill me right now. He asks us to write a reflection on that. Yeah, well, as I wasn't really in mood to do it so I did it really badly. Well, at least I finished it. I think I should improve in writing my reflection. Seriously. And also... Of course my performance!

As the time wasn't enough for all students to play, therefore today the rest of them who haven't performed should. Starting with Calista Pieters who plays saxophone, then followed by Jean Claudia and Ian Clifton Mestaka who was absent the day before. They played rather well, although not as good as Eun Hye (please, duh, she has played flute since she was small). Actually, we should also listen to Steven Jaya's performance, but apparently he wasn't prepared therefore he would play next week.
After we listen to the performances, we learn about major and minor chords, such as major, major 7th, minor, minor 7th, major 6th, minor 6th, major 69, minor 69, dominant 7 and minor 7. It is very easy and my teacher said that this might be in the term test. Honestly, I am not that worried if the questions are like these because they are not hard at all! We also learn about accidentals: flats, sharps, and neutral; and also enharmonic tones which are so basic and not complicated at all. Well, in the end, as I want to be the best, I have to practice about this, so when Mr. Herry gives hard questions, I would be able to answer it. Correct?

Hmph, today I can't really say that it is a good day for me because we have solo performance assessment today. I am the first one to perform and seriously, I am not very happy with it. I am so nervous, my hands go all cold. My fingers are frozen. Ciih, how am I supposed to play without mistakes with my stupid nerve? Never mind about it, so yes I play the song 'You' and make 1 mistake in the MIDDLE part. So sad, huh? After me, the other members of piano class play. After that, the guitar performs and then the violin. I really like Bayu's performance because he plays really good and doesn't make any mistakes. Isn't it so awesome? I also think that Hasan plays really well in violin. Even though there are some mistakes, he really tries so well that I think he deserves two thumbs up. The last one who plays is Eun Hye. She plays Somewhere Over The Rainbow with flute. Really great, seriously. The other woodwind students are going to play tommorow. Anyway, I am so sad that I don't play really well... How can I get perfect scores when I make mistakes? Aiihh... Next term, I'll make sure that I play perfectly! No matter what!

Seriously, I don't know what I am supposed to say. Today we have group presentation and I think our group is the best one because we are very well-prepared and also I have prepared lots of good jazz songs to be presented during our presentation time. You really have to see our presentation. It is so great! It is very complete and we put lots of images and songs. We even have a video of Michael Buble. How cool is that? Well, our theory teachers give us feedback about it and I am happily take all in.
Mr. John Legoh- This is one of the best presentations that I have ever seen. Everybody was very collaborative and did their own research. They were all very well-prepared and they created a really good presentation. The visual illustrations were so good because there were many pictures, songs, and even a video played during the presentation. I like Eun Hye's used of palm cards and eye contact. The sources were also given. So, yes, this group is really excellent!
Mr. Herry Rajasa- I think the content is almost perfect and they have lots of informations in it. There were also animations which I really liked. However, I think that they could improve in their posture during the presentation. They shouldn't be too casual and when you want to show pictures, the presenter doesn't need to go to the screen and point it one by one. The other members of the group could do that using the mouse.
Oh, well... blame me for the posture thingy because I was the one who ran to the screen during the presentation. However, don't worry, because I have learnt my lesson and won't repeat it again. Promise xxx. Even though our presentation isn't that perfect, but I am still happy because I'm sure that I will get good marks. Yippiee!

I have never realized how smart people are in my class! They are so amazing. For example, James. He is really awesome in palying guitar. And there is Eun Hye who is not only good in flute, but also piano and violin (I know, right? She is such a genius!). There is also Tiffany who can play piano and sing very well. Oh, what about Hasan? His voice is really good and he is talented in violin. Another guy that is really good in singing is Emir. He also can play guitar really well. Oh, and there is Aryo who plays with feelings that mesmerize everybody. Another friend of mine, JeOk, is a great singer. And then there is Kezia who is really good at playing piano. Oh, and also Bayu that can play guitar songs that seem so hard! Seriously, these people are so awesome!! It's not that I am saying that the others are not good. Nope, I'm not saying that. I just say what I see. Well, today is rehearsal day for our solo performance assessment.
The first person who plays is James. He plays a song named Adelita which means Tears. Don't ask. He plays this in the interschool competition and he gets the second place. Yup, he is really great. After he plays 2 songs, it is Emir's turn to show his talents. He sings and plays a song called Remembering Sunday by All Time Low. The song is really nice and he plays it really well. After him, Bayu and Melvin also plays a song from Depapepe. Honestly, I must say that the song is really awesome. After guitar, it's time for Tiffany to show her ability. She plays Arabesque by Debussy. Too bad, when she plays, she makes many mistakes. Hm... that is so unlike Tiffany because she usually plays perfectly. Maybe she is nervous... After her, Tiffany plays duet with Andriani... They play Canon in D by Campbell. After that, Eun Hye plays Amazing Grace using flute and believe it or not, she still plays really good even though her lower lip is kind of swollen. How is that not awesome? Yes, indeed, today there is no instrument class. So sad, huh? However, from this, I realize that I have to practice more to get really good scores!

So sad that today Mr. John is absent. Our other theory music which is Mr. Herry, comes late because he is hold up in the assembly at the eight floor. Thus, Miss Melvina substitutes him. She is really nice. I have always liked her since the first time I attend this school, my beloved Bina Nusantara International School Simprug. Each of us is given a paper of the song Hari Merdeka. My friend, Eun Hye, seems very excited when sings this. Unlike me. When Mr. Herry comes, he teaches us about intervals and asks whether we have understood about it or not.
After we have finished studying about these boring stuffs, we discuss about the group presentation about music styles. Each of us goes to our own groups. Of course, I join and sit with the jazz group. During that time, we discuss our role: what we want to research about, and other things like that. My task is to find the bands, examples of songs, and singers of jazz music. I think it is so easy because I have a pretty huge collection of jazz songs. Actually, I also want to combine all the informations and put into one, but Tiffany who is our leader wants to do this too, so I let her. I am such an angel! I think that I should work really hard to get good marks. Hah. I am sure that my group is going to be the best one because I will make it really unique! Just wait and see!

Hasn't my dream come true? It seems that the music class' schedule was changed. Yeah, right, I am so happy (Sarcasm). Anyway, today we study about intervals which is very boring. Geez, I have studied this since I was in Grade 7. Apparently, my teachers really like to repeat things. When I say these things, I seem like Tiffany (kidding, Tiff). Yeah, well, we learn what interval is and how to count it or something like that. Sorry, I can't say that it is my favourite subject (it is interval, not music). We also learn about first and second inversion which is not hard at all. Maybe I might sound very snobbish, but I am just trying to tell the truth. Anyway, I think I could improve the time I need to do the questions. The quicker and the more accurate I could finish the questions, well... I want to challenge myself.
In the instrument class, we practice minor harmonic scales. I don't play that well because I make some mistakes. After that, as usual I play 'You'. I think I play it better than yesterday, but surely I still could improve, especially the scales. Ugh, I MUST imrpove, seriously. The weakness is that my hands are small and its not really active, so yeah...

Um... I really don't know what to say. Usually I never hate music class, but weirdly I do today. Today is assessment day for singing the song Heal The World. As you know, I am no good at singing because my voice is very high-pitched and really cempreng. Thanks God that I sing with Eun Hye. Her voice is really good (well, at least hers is better than mine). Worse, I get to be the first one to sing. I know, it is so unfair, right?! Not only that, we also have to sing the song until the end and seriously, I do not know the end part!!! Aiih, I think I really get bad scores in this assessment. Oh, no... I am so dead. Have I told you that I am really nervous when I am in front of the others? I know I should be working on my nerve. It always gets the best of me. You also know that my english's pronounciation is really bad, right? Actually, that's the reason why I never talk in English. I'm too ashamed with it. Anyway, I think I really have to improve my voice, my english, everything!!!
During the instrument class, we play sonata, but I choose to play the song 'You' again. However, I still make the mistakes! Isn't that really annoying? Oh please, I never realize how stupid I am. The mistakes I make is still in the middle part. Don't worry, I'll try to make it better next time I play it. I will make no mistakes! I promise!

AUGUST 7 2009
Here comes the Friday again. Can you believe that? Everything seems so quick and kind of sudden, right? Next week, I would be given a new schedules and secretly, I'm hoping that music class would stay in Tuesday and Friday. Anyway, today we learn about triad and chords again. Seriously, it is so boring. It's not that I am such a bluffer or something like that, but I just find the lesson very boring. After we learn about it, then Mr. Herry give the introduction about our assessment. It is about the styles of music and we are supposed to make a group presentation about it. There are 4 topics:
- Pop Rock
- Jazz
- Country
- Latin America
During the instrument class, I play the song 'You' again. As usual, I play with some mistakes and it really dissapoints me. However, I think I still have time to improve and perfect it. My weakness is when it is in the middle part which is the part of the transition from the first part into the second part. Oh, also when I play, sometimes my fingers are really cold that I feel that they are freezing. Well, anyway... I guess that's all we do today.
